Project planning

Work with project design teams to dream up ways of enhancing a game through audio, and then plot a course for creating and managing its realization, on-time!

Partner with systems engineers to identify audio specifications and determine optimal use of the audio engine and sound design tools.

Establish naming and filing standards to manage audio assets in accordance with the game design.

Promise to work throughout the project to overcome challenges as they arise so as not to interfere with the parallel work effort.

Sound design

Produce (create or have created) audio content from libraries, synthesizer generation, field recording and Foley sessions to create sound effects, Foley design, and ambience.

For more, see the ‘Sound Design” section on the Values page.

Music

Produce (license, compose or have composed) music in accordance to the project’s design goals and system requirements.

For more, see the ‘Music’ section on the Values page.

Voice over

Produce (or oversee production of) voice over recordings including script management, talent audition & contracting, recording sessions and file processing & editing.

For more, see the ‘Voice Over’ section on the Values page.

Game implementation

Integrate and mix audio content into the game using proprietary and standard middleware tools (FMOD, WWISE, etc.).

Edit, process and convert audio content per the game and its system parameters.

I believe 50% of excellent audio design is done by implementing the sounds into the game well.  Write beautiful music and create perfect sound effects, but don’t implement them correctly and players will say the sound sucks!

For more, see the ‘Game Implementation’ section on the Values page.

Cinematics post-production

Design and implement music and sound for linear cut scenes and full motion video.

Localization

Oversee production and offer consultation and assistance of game localization process.
